WELCOME

Welcome to our first edition of โ€˜Stories of Homeโ€™. I'm Lauren Caisley, Mum of two (very cheeky) little boys and founder of Caisley. Caisley, as you may know us, is a design studio born out of a love of beautiful, quietly elegant and classically timeless homes. I want these stories, like our projects, to celebrate life - to enjoy the little pleasures our homes give us. From my 17th Century English cottage, I'll be writing to you each month, starting by peering into what to enjoy this season and peruse imagery that will leave you feeling inspired.

Feel free to message me on reply, I would love to hear from you!

Spring Lamb Recipe

In March I want to eat cosy suppers that have a lighter, fresher feel. This Nigella recipe ticks all the boxes. My husband, Nick, is Persian so I know he'll enjoy the Middle Eastern feel to this Spring lamb.

Nigella states 'You do need to serve this lamb salad warm rather than cold (a bit of fat provides flavoursome lubrication at anything above room temperature; once cold we're talking congealed, waxy whiteness โ€” not such an attractive proposition), but if you keep the lamb tented with foil once it's out of the oven โ€” should you need to hold it for longer than an hour or two โ€” that shouldn't pose problems.'

What Weโ€™re working on in the studio

In the studio at the moment we're working on a number of fantastic projects. We typically work on 6-8 projects per year, focusing our attention on our clients, and the stages involved in large scale renovations. Our projects at the moment range from a Grade II Listed Medieval Manor House, a Georgian Manor House, A Grade II Listed Regency style villa with guest cottage, an old Vicarage with Coach House and pool house and an Edwardian Townhouse in my home town of Harpenden. There's a great mix of traditional houses, each bringing their own character and charm.
